About The Position

The K–12 School Social Work Lead leads and facilitates a continuous cycle of improvement focused on strengthening student mental health, wellness, attendance, engagement, and overall school success throughout the district. This district leader reports to the Director of Whole-Child Systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of successful experience in school social work.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to support district-wide initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, MTSS, restorative practices, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, and school-based mental health supports.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively with students, families, staff, administration, and community partners.
  • Ability to problem-solve, analyze data, and support systems-level planning and implementation.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and communication of district-wide social-emotional, behavioral, attendance, and mental health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with district and building leaders to strengthen trauma-informed and restorative practices across the district.
  • Outline, implement, and lead staff meetings, PLCs, and district professional learning days related to student mental health, trauma-informed practices, behavior supports, de-escalation, attendance, crisis response, and family engagement.
  • Analyze district data related to attendance, behavior, social-emotional learning, mental health, and student support services to guide decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with District School Improvement Plans related to student wellness, school climate, attendance, and behavioral supports.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and mental health partners to strengthen access to resources and supports for students and families.
  • Other duties as assigned.
