About The Position
Albert Lea Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic JV Girls Hockey Coach to support the hockey program and help develop student-athletes on and off the ice. The coach will emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and a positive team culture. The position is located at Albert Lea High School and begins with the Winter 2026–27 season. Compensation is $4,153.33 (Schedule C).
Requirements
- Coaching and/or playing experience in hockey.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of hockey strategy, fundamentals, and player safety.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Must meet MSHSL and Albert Lea Area Schools coaching requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct practices.
- Support individual player development, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and accountability.
- Help manage equipment, game preparation, and logistics.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes student growth and academic success.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff.
- Serve as a positive role model representing Albert Lea Activities and the community.
