About The Position

Charlotte Latin School is seeking a Junior Varsity Girls Assistant Soccer Coach to begin February 2027. The coach will support the head coach with tryouts, practices, games, player feedback, safety, communication, and program development. The position requires after-school availability starting at 3:30 PM for practices and games, and the ability to work long or irregular hours as needed.

The work environment includes intermittent exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures. Physical demands include intermittently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds, along with a range of movement and repetitive-use activities.

Requirements

• Experience coaching on a school or club team, and/or experience as a college or competitive high school soccer player.
• A positive, upbeat coaching style.
• A love of working with children in this age group.
• Commitment to wellness and working with the whole child.
• Willingness and ability to resolve conflicts with colleagues, parents, and students.
• Ability to build rapport with colleagues and work collaboratively as a team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Availability after school starting at 3:30 PM for practices and games.
• Ability to work long or odd hours as needed.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands and work in the described environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in conducting tryouts.
• Assist the head coach with running drills and practices and managing player feedback.
• Organize and direct small-group practices and activities.
• Assist during all home and away games.
• Help ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
• Assist with communication with parents and athletes.
• Assist the head coach with program development.
