About The Position

This position supports student athletes in a secondary-level school sports program. The assistant coach teaches technical skills, promotes safety, and fosters discipline, good sportsmanship, and a safe environment for social interaction. The role involves managing assigned aspects of the sport program in alignment with the school’s mission and Athletic Department requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Complete all VHSL and district coaching requirements, including CPR/First Aid/AED, concussion training, and a background check.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

• Previous experience in the sport or activity sponsorship program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee or lead aspects of the sport program.
• Plan and conduct effective practices and competitions.
• Supervise, support, or collaborate with colleagues and coaches.
• Demonstrate appropriate behavior among students.
• Ensure compliance with VHSL, district, and school policies.
• Manage scheduling and program organization.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration.
