About The Position

Charlotte Latin School is seeking a Varsity Girls Soccer Assistant Coach to begin in February 2027. The assistant coach supports the head coach with tryouts, practices, games, player feedback, communication, student-athlete safety and well-being, and program development. The role requires after-school availability beginning at 3:30 PM for practices and games, as well as the ability to work long or unusual hours as needed.

The position involves intermittent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 25 pounds. It also involves continuous seeing, sitting, balancing, grasping, and repetitive use of the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers, along with intermittent standing, bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and other movements. The work environment may include exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low-to-medium noise, and moderate indoor heat and cold.

Requirements

• Experience coaching on a school or club team, and/or experience as a college or competitive high school soccer player.
• A positive, upbeat coaching style.
• A love of working with children in this age group.
• Commitment to wellness and working with the whole child.
• Ability and willingness to resolve conflicts with colleagues, parents, and students.
• Ability to build rapport with colleagues and work collaboratively as a team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Availability after school starting at 3:30 PM for practices and games.
• Ability to work long or unusual hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in conducting tryouts.
• Assist the head coach with running drills and practices and managing player feedback.
• Organize and direct small-group practices and activities.
• Assist during all home and away games.
• Help ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
• Assist with communication with parents and athletes.
• Assist the head coach with program development.
