About The Position

As a Juvenile Facility Security Officer - Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, support visitor processing, and help maintain orderly operations. This is a driving post. In this role, you will provide customer service, use technology for security-related tasks, and bring our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every interaction.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and residents by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification and credentials, and monitoring entry and exit activity at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related issues to site contacts and/or emergency personnel when appropriate.
  • Monitor doors, gates, control points, and visitor processing areas to help support authorized access, maintain accurate logs, and follow property, package, and key control procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or potential security-related hazards.
  • Communicate with staff, contractors, and the public in a professional manner while following post orders, emergency response procedures, and documentation requirements.
