Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and authorized personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access, prohibited items, and other security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, while communicating with site personnel and/or public agency representatives as needed.
• Document visitor activity, access exceptions, and security-related incidents in required logs and reports, following post orders and established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, facility issues, and other conditions that may require notification and/or follow-up.
