As a Youth Detention Security Officer - Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will help manage access control, monitor activity, and perform routine patrols while remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or authorization, and document visitor, staff, and vendor activity in accordance with site policies.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public sector personnel as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Support movement control and restricted area access procedures while following post orders, reporting requirements, and established security-related guidelines.
