Requirements

  • A DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, control visitor access, and maintain accurate logs of arrivals, departures, and security-related incidents.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, communications, and notification of appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and policy violations.
  • Support screening and contraband prevention procedures, follow post orders and government protocols, and report maintenance, access, and security-related concerns to site leadership.
