About The Position

As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional environment through strong communication and visible presence. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, identification verification, and other security-related policies for a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, screen visitors and/or vehicles as required, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent application of post orders and security-related protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with supervisors and/or appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations, and reporting findings according to site procedures.
  • Maintain detailed logs, badge records, and incident reports, and assist with emergency response activities when appropriate in accordance with site-specific instructions.
