Requirements

  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA, DPSS, and DHS requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and credentials, screen visitors, and document arrivals, departures, and restricted access activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related matters to site contacts and/or local authorities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and observe for unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, and visitors while supporting intake, escort, and controlled entry procedures in accordance with location requirements.
