About The Position

As a Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer - Visitor Access in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Security Professional at a government juvenile services location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for staff, visitors, and youth. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and help address security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. This is a driving position.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, youth residents, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, facility access policies, and emergency response activities.
• Control access to the government juvenile services location by verifying identification and authorization, screening visitors as required, issuing and retrieving visitor credentials, and maintaining access logs.
• Monitor entry and exit points, cameras, alarms, and/or other access-control systems; report irregularities, unauthorized access attempts, and equipment concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, critical situations, and requests for assistance in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established facility protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
