Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and authorized contractors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile justice location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate personnel and document observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, exterior areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with facility personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership while completing required reports and shift documentation.
