About The Position
As a Junior Ski or Snowboard Instructor at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, you will help create memorable experiences for young and new skiers and snowboarders. You will assist instructors with children’s programs and beginner lessons, help guests with their gear, and perform other duties around the Snowsports Center. This position offers training opportunities with Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Education Staff and can provide young adults with training to become lead instructors. Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a 1,300-acre, AAA Four Diamond resort in Lake Geneva. The all-seasons destination includes guest accommodations, a spa and salon, golf courses, fitness facilities, a ski hill and terrain park, and food and beverage outlets. It is part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation.
Requirements
- Beginner-level skier or snowboarder.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a positive attitude.
- Safety-minded, able to take direction well, and comfortable working with the public, including children.
- Willingness to assist with various duties around the chalet.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and lift 50 pounds.
- Flexible availability, potentially including days, nights, weekends, and holidays; may be required to work second shift.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED; relevant experience or training may be accepted.
- Interest in receiving training to become a lead instructor.
Responsibilities
- Assist the class instructor and students during beginner and intermediate skiing or snowboarding lessons.
- Ensure the safety of guests and associates at all times.
- Participate in instructor training opportunities with PSIA Education Staff.
- Perform a variety of assigned tasks around the Snowsports Center.
- Assist guests with their gear and help instructors keep programs and lessons running smoothly.
