About The Position
The Ski Instructor and Ski Shop Attendant teaches ski lessons, rents and tunes skis, and helps keep the Outdoor Center operating throughout the winter. Lessons are tailored to guests’ experience levels and goals. The amount of teaching varies depending on conditions and demand, with other shop and outdoor-center duties making up the role.
Requirements
- Be an experienced skier.
- Have previous cross-country ski instructing experience.
- Have previous customer service experience, especially in a busy environment.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach ski lessons tailored to guests’ experience levels and goals.
- Rent skis and snowshoes.
- Tune Outdoor Center equipment and guest equipment.
- Advise guests on suggested routes and answer equipment questions.
- Shovel, clean, and tend the fire.
- Cover the retail desk while staff are on breaks.
- Assist with rescues.
Benefits
