About The Position

Junior IT Service Support Analysts, internally called Junior Operations Analysts, are part of the Command Centre, providing 24/7 Level 1/2 Infrastructure monitoring support for all Kingfisher brands. This role is crucial to the incident management process, responsible for identifying and reporting issues on live service applications. Analysts also perform initial problem determination and recovery before escalating issues to dedicated application and technology teams. This position offers significant development potential and is ideal for individuals seeking an introduction to IT. The role is based in Southampton and involves a shift pattern of 12-hour shifts (24x7x365) over 15 days per month. A driving license is preferable for potential site visits.

Requirements

  • An IT related College/University qualification
  • Good understanding of Microsoft tools, such as EXCEL/WORD
  • Good general knowledge of IT software tools (EG: Microsoft Windows, MS Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to pick up new skills quickly.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Customer focus
  • Self-motivated with ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Have a genuine interest in Retail and how customer needs are changing, particularly online

  • Excellent GCSE grades, emphasis in English & Maths

Nice To Haves

  • Employment experience in IT and/or Retail would be beneficial.
  • An IT related qualification would be advantageous.
  • A driving licence is preferable as you may be required to visit other sites.

Responsibilities

  • Work 12-hour shifts (24x7) managing IT services in accordance with Kingfisher operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor IT production services of the operating companies that form Kingfisher PLC.
  • Work with experienced team members to develop business knowledge, key capabilities, and essential skills in readiness for promotion to next role.
  • Fix production incidents in accordance with agreed procedures and where necessary co-ordinate the resolution of more difficult incidents by working closely with technical support personnel.
  • Form effective relationships with colleagues so implementation of additional Command Centre responsibilities is seamless.
