About The Position

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking an entry-level Junior Implementation Specialist to join its Implementation team and help airline and business aviation customers adopt its flight planning, dispatch, and electronic flight bag software. The role is intended for a recent college or aviation school graduate interested in building a career across aviation and technology. The specialist will initially support configuration, testing, and training on live projects, then progress toward owning smaller implementations and individual workstreams as product and domain knowledge grows. The position is hybrid and based in the Denver, Colorado office. The specialist works alongside experienced team members to configure customer environments, diagnose document-package issues, investigate reported problems, coordinate project activity, and provide customer training. The role also involves collaborating with product, support, engineering, and third-party vendors; supporting testing and releases; and using AI-powered tools to improve configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting work. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.

Requirements

  • Recently completed a bachelor’s degree, aviation school program, or comparable technical program, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Expected professional experience of 0–2 years.
  • Genuine passion for aviation and information technology and a strong desire to build a career in both.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on XML configuration editing and third-party flight-planning data authoring, including translator and field-mapping logic.
  • Aptitude for learning to diagnose multi-document package structures, sequencing, inclusion, and file-size issues.
  • Strong AI skills or demonstrated ability to learn AI-powered tools quickly, with enthusiasm for applying them to implementation work.
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to develop judgment in distinguishing software defects, configuration issues, and third-party data problems.
  • Strong technical aptitude and comfort learning and configuring software without a traditional software engineering background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort presenting to and training customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize with support from senior team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation knowledge, such as private pilot ground school, aviation coursework, flight dispatch familiarity, or airline/general aviation operations exposure; a desire to build aviation knowledge is also welcomed.
  • Current or former pilot experience.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, third-party flight-planning and dispatch systems such as LIDO, NAVBLUE, and PPS.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, system integration concepts such as API and SFTP and IT/networking concepts such as firewall whitelisting and environment setup; prior hands-on experience is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and work across ticketing and tracking systems such as Jira and vendor service desks, in addition to a CRM.
  • Experience with, or willingness to quickly learn, Salesforce or a comparable CRM/project-tracking tool.
  • Familiarity with, or interest in learning, electronic flight bag or flight planning/dispatch software.
  • Comfort working across time zones with international customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support customer implementations of flight planning, dispatch, and electronic flight bag software, progressing toward independently owning smaller implementations.
  • Assist with configuring customer-specific environments, including third-party system integrations, API/SFTP setup, and IP whitelisting, under senior specialists’ guidance.
  • Learn to diagnose Electronic Flight Folder and topic-based document package issues, including missing, duplicated, or out-of-sequence documents and incomplete settings.
  • Edit XML configuration files and learn how upstream flight-planning vendors author data into products, including translator and field-mapping logic.
  • Help determine whether reported issues are software defects, configuration changes, or third-party data problems.
  • Manage and track implementation projects in CRM/project-tracking systems and help keep status current and delivery on schedule.
  • File and track engineering defects in ticketing systems such as Jira and support vendor service desk coordination as needed.
  • Support and eventually lead customer-facing familiarization training on product features and workflows.
  • Assist with transitions from test and evaluation to production, including validation testing with customers.
  • Review device and app logs and screenshots to gather diagnostic evidence before escalating issues.
  • Support beta and TestFlight coordination and communicate release-cycle timing to customers.
  • Use AI-powered tools to accelerate configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting, and help the broader team adopt them.
  • Partner with product and support teams to resolve configuration issues and implementation escalations.
  • Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to build long-term customer relationships.
  • Travel to customer sites occasionally as needed.
