About The Position

Bask Health is seeking a software engineer to help build the software infrastructure behind telehealth. The engineer will work directly with the CEO and CTO and take end-to-end ownership of product experiences, from concept through production. Engineering is AI-first and builder-led, using tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to investigate problems, plan, build, test, and refine software with real patients and care teams. The platform is a serverless, multi-tenant monorepo using Next.js and React on the front end, tRPC and Prisma on the back end, SST for deployment, and TypeScript throughout. Engineers work across the stack, build reusable patterns, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on improving healthcare delivery. The role emphasizes fast prototyping and validation, transparent and trustworthy automation, and performance, accessibility, reliability, and quality in sensitive clinical contexts.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience.
  • Strong skills in React, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind, and JavaScript.
  • Backend skills with tRPC, Drizzle ORM, SQL, Node, and SST.
  • Ability to work independently and own entire projects or large areas of a codebase.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate technical problems, constraints, and timelines.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to roll up sleeves, and interest in improving how healthcare is delivered.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience building paid products and services is preferred.
  • React Native or Expo experience is a plus.
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 and applying that instinct within a system already serving real patients.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship high-quality product experiences, owning key surfaces from concept through production.
  • Write elegant, well-tested code and help maintain the test suite.
  • Work across the stack, following features from interface through API to database.
  • Use Cursor and Claude Code as part of an AI-first development workflow to investigate, plan, scaffold, implement, and refactor software.
  • Prototype quickly and validate with real patients and care teams, using feedback to refine products, particularly in sensitive clinical contexts.
  • Translate product needs into reusable, well-architected patterns that support scale and make future features faster to ship.
  • Build systems that clearly communicate what AI and automation are doing on behalf of patients and providers.
  • Champion performance, accessibility, and reliability; debug and optimize software with the team.
  • Document effective AI-native prompts, patterns, and workflows so the team can work efficiently without compromising patient outcomes.
  • Communicate technical problems, constraints, and timelines clearly.
