About The Position
The Junior Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer, and Boyd’s Tire standards. Compensation varies from $20–$25 per hour plus flag rate, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Prefer at least one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience or training.
- Possess a valid driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
- Ability to pass an MVR screening and background check.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications and experience.
- Perform work outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order efficiently and accurately.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including the Store Manager, Service Consultants, and/or customers.
- Recommend services necessary to keep customers’ vehicles in running condition and document recommendations in customer files.
- Follow safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
- Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renew certifications as they expire.
