About The Position

Boyd’s Tire & Service has provided automotive products and services in Central Ohio since 1996, with locations in Columbus, Blacklick, Hilliard, Lewis Center, Marysville, and other Central Ohio communities. The Junior Automotive Technician diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles efficiently and effectively while following MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer, and Boyd’s Tire standards. Compensation varies from $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. The role includes diagnosing vehicles according to the technician’s certification and experience level, completing inspections and repair orders, explaining diagnoses and repairs, recommending and documenting needed services, following safety procedures, and maintaining ASE certifications.

Requirements

Preferably have at least one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience or training.
Possess a valid driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of the hire date.
Be able to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications and experience.
Perform work outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order efficiently and accurately.
Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including the Store Manager, Service Consultants, and/or customers.
Recommend services needed to keep customers’ vehicles in running condition and document recommendations in the customer file.
Follow safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renew expiring certifications.
