About The Position

Boyd’s Tire & Service has served drivers in Central Ohio since 1996, providing tires and automotive repair at locations throughout the region. The Junior Automotive Technician diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles efficiently and effectively, following MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer, and Boyd’s Tire standards. Compensation varies from $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

• Preferably have at least one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience or training.
• Have a valid driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of the hire date.
• Be able to work at least five days per week, including Saturdays.

• At least one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience or training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles in accordance with the technician’s certifications and experience.
• Complete work listed on multi-point inspections and repair orders efficiently and accurately.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including store managers, service consultants, and customers.
• Recommend services needed to keep vehicles in good running condition and document recommendations in the customer file.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renew certifications before they expire.
