Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 1–2 years of driving experience preferred
  • Ability to operate a refrigerated delivery vehicle safely and follow all BC driving laws
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures related to cold chain handling, documentation, and vehicle inspections
  • Ability to handle cash payments and follow company cash handling protocols
  • Good time management and route planning skills
  • Professional and courteous customer service skills
  • Physically able to lift and move products and assist with loading and unloading when required
  • Basic organizational skills to manage invoices, delivery paperwork, and product transfers
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while representing the company professionally

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in farming or food processing, forklift operation, WHMIS, Food Safe, and First Aid are all assets but not required – we’re happy to train the right person!

Responsibilities

  • Reefer temperature check and documented. Must be below 4 C
  • Ensure fuel and engine fluid levels are at acceptable levels, documented on weekly maintenance / safety inspection form and submitted to Maintenance
  • Monitor maintenance scheduling, oil change intervals and ensure vehicle is booked in regular scheduled maintenance. Arrange a suitable replacement vehicle if required through the Warehouse Manager or Maintenance
  • Operate the vehicle safely and follow BC driving laws.
  • Drive the vehicle in a courteous and professional manner
  • Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible, while meeting customer delivery schedules
  • Report defects, accidents or violations to the Health and Safety Administrator and ICBC as required as soon as possible after
  • Deliver FVSP products to the customer professionally. Place the products where it is most convenient for the customer.
  • Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with customers and the public. Wear company branded clothing
  • Provide Sales Representatives and/or the Sales Manager any useful or necessary customer information or concerns
  • Driver to follow cash pick up protocol SOP
  • Return directly to Richmond warehouse when the total sum of cash from the various customer payment pickups approaches or exceeds $8,000 (Payments and total sum exceeding $8,000 can be collected but must always be immediately brought back to the Richmond warehouse upon exceeding $8,000 in total cash)
  • Pick up of payments for COD’s cash/cheque’s as required
  • Responsible to ensure FVSP’s cold chain is protected and maintained. The product must remain refrigerated below – 4 – 0 C, while product is in transit and/or transferred and parked (reefer turned on and/or plugged in) Deviations must be documented in the drivers log and reported the appropriate department
  • Temperature upon delivery of product is to be recorded on the paperwork for the order going to the customer and the signed copy going back to the office.
  • Regular washing of the vehicle as required but not less than once every 2 weeks for exterior, 1 month for interior. Documented in drivers log
  • Scan, transfer and organize products at the warehouse.
  • Ensure all invoices are organized.
  • Pick up products from Yarrow when necessary.
  • Occasionally assist the shipper to upload and unload products from Yarrow.
  • Every Monday morning assist to clean warehouse.
