About The Position
The Jr Accountant supports accounts payable, daily cash accounting, and treasury operations within Rome Health’s Finance Department. The role helps ensure vendors are paid accurately, cash activity is recorded promptly, bank accounts and general ledger balances are reconciled, and cash-related financial records are complete and accurate for month-end close, financial reporting, and management decision-making. The position is primarily performed in an office setting and collaborates with internal departments, vendors, and financial institutions.
Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounts payable processes, cash accounting, and bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort learning financial, accounting, and banking systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and prepare accurate financial information.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and financial institutions.
Nice To Haves

- Experience in accounting, accounts payable, cash management, or treasury preferred.
- Healthcare finance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, verify, and process vendor invoices, employee expense claims, and payment requests.
- Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts, cost centers, and departments.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, prepare vendor payment runs, and reconcile vendor discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts payable aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices, overdue balances, and vendor discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end closing activities.
- Assist with daily cash position monitoring and preparation of cash position reports.
- Assist in maintaining cash flow forecasts and tracking expected receipts and payments.
