About The Position

The Junior Accountant supports accounts payable, daily cash accounting, and treasury operations within the Finance Department. The role helps ensure vendors are paid accurately, cash activity is recorded promptly, bank accounts and general ledger balances are reconciled, and cash-related financial records are complete and accurate for month-end close, financial reporting, and management decision-making.

Requirements

Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounts payable processes, cash accounting, and bank and general ledger reconciliations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort learning financial, accounting, and banking systems.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and prepare accurate financial information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with internal departments, vendors, and financial institutions.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Accounting, accounts payable, cash management, or treasury experience preferred.
Healthcare finance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive, review, verify, and process vendor invoices, employee expense claims, and payment requests.
Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts, cost centers, and departments.
Maintain accurate vendor records, prepare vendor payment runs, and reconcile vendor discrepancies.
Monitor accounts payable aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices, overdue balances, and vendor discrepancies.
Assist with month-end closing activities.
Assist with daily cash position monitoring and prepare cash position reports.
Assist in maintaining cash flow forecasts and tracking expected receipts and payments.
