Sabre Systems is currently hiring a Journeyman System Security Engineer (SSE) to support Unmanned Carrier Aviation Program Office (PMA-268) located at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The selected candidate will provide support to PMA-268 Cyber Leads in the execution of the PMA-268 Cybersecurity Program, including drafting and reviewing program documentation, policies, and plans. The role involves coordinating with Cyber Leads on changes affecting system security posture, cybersecurity authorizations, and certifications. The SSE will lead product-specific System Security Engineering activities for all systems within the Integrated Product Team (IPT) scope, providing oversight of all IPT cybersecurity activities and reviewing system documentation to gain SME-level knowledge. The position requires close collaboration with the IPT Class Desk and Leadership to ensure early engagement on cybersecurity impacts to program cost, schedule, or performance. The SSE will develop and maintain a cyber schedule, provide input for SOWs, DIDs, and CDRLs, and identify, define, and document system security requirements. Responsibilities include tracking the execution and performance of security measures, conducting critical function analysis, identifying Mission Essential Functions (MEF), and leading Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments. The role involves understanding vulnerabilities and attack vectors, recommending security solutions, and performing SSE duties in support of Cyber Survivability Risk Assessments (CSRAs) and CYBERSAFE. This includes leading the collaborative development of artifacts and data, leading DFIA implementation efforts, and leading system security certification and registration activities. The SSE will also lead IPT cybersecurity activities by initiating, communicating, and coordinating with stakeholders and SMEs, leading the IPT SSE Working Group, coordinating with contractors, maintaining awareness of system authorizations, reviewing IPT cybersecurity CDRLs, participating in change management processes, and coordinating risk management activities. Additionally, the SSE will assist the IPT ISSO with defining information types, approving CIA, reviewing POA&Ms, and reviewing hardware/software lists. Administrative expectations include daily login to Microsoft Teams, a minimum of three in-person workdays per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) with core office hours, and providing weekly updates on Cyber Status Slides, Microsoft Planner Task Status, and Task Trackers, as well as bi-weekly updates to the Cyber Schedule. Meeting summary notes are also required.
