About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking multiple full-time Job Coaches for its Employment Services Program in the Bronx. Job Coaches support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful employment. Coaches spend most of their time with individuals at their job sites at first, then gradually reduce support as workers become proficient. The role is primarily field-based, with approximately 90% of time spent at individuals’ job sites. Coaches manage a caseload of about 10–15 clients and work 40 hours per week. Schedule flexibility is required. Compensation is $20 per hour for a high school diploma or GED, $21 per hour for an associate degree, $22 per hour for a bachelor’s degree, and $23 per hour for a master’s degree. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to individuals’ scheduling needs.
Teaching or mentoring experience.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent customer service and client-facing experience.
Strong case-note writing and documentation skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of about 10–15 clients, primarily in the field, spending approximately 90% of the time at individuals’ job sites.
Teach, assist, and support new workers in their jobs using demonstration, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
Provide training and support to workers with disabilities to help them succeed in their roles.
Assist new workers with travel from home to job sites when needed.
Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor client progress and outcomes.
