About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking multiple full-time Job Coaches to join its Employment Services Program in the Bronx. The role supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. Job Coaches spend most of their time at clients’ job sites at first, then gradually reduce support as each worker becomes proficient.

The position manages a caseload of approximately 10–15 clients, with about 90% of work time spent in the field at job sites. The schedule is 40 hours per week, and schedule flexibility is essential. Travel expenses are reimbursed. Compensation is $20 per hour for a high school diploma or GED, $21 per hour for an associate degree, $22 per hour for a bachelor’s degree, and $23 per hour for a master’s degree. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
• Teaching or mentoring experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent customer-service and client-facing experience.
• Strong case-note writing and documentation skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 10–15 clients, primarily in the field at their job sites.
• Teach, assist, and support workers in their jobs through demonstration, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
• Provide training and support to workers with disabilities to help them succeed in their roles.
• Assist new workers with travel from home to job sites when needed.
• Write detailed service notes after each session to track client progress and outcomes.
