About The Position

ACLD is a not-for-profit agency serving children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities. The Job Coach provides on-site job coaching and advocacy for people supported in the intensive and follow-along phases of Supported Employment. The role assists adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities in building self-sufficiency and learning their work tasks. The position is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean, valid New York State driver’s license.
• Complete 24 hours of OPWDD’s Innovations in Employment Supports training within the first year of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience providing vocational or pre-vocational services to supported persons.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site job coaching for an assigned caseload.
• Complete and ensure accurate, timely documentation, including SAP plans, case notes, monthly reports, DDPs, and other required records.
• Conduct on-site observational assessments to help people supported learn their job tasks.
• Provide travel training on public transportation and/or roadways.
• Maintain case files for each person supported.
• Prepare monthly documentation for ACCES and OPWDD.
• Act as a liaison among the person supported, family, and employer.
• Attend staff meetings, Life Plans, conferences, and annual training requirements.
• Provide overall assistance as assigned.
