About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking multiple full-time Job Coaches for its Employment Services Program in Staten Island. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful employment. Job Coaches initially spend most of their time with each individual at the job site, then gradually reduce support as the individual becomes proficient in the job. The position involves managing a caseload of approximately 10–15 clients, with about 90% of work time spent at clients’ job sites. The schedule is 40 hours per week, and flexibility is required. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

Hourly compensation depends on education: $20 for a high school diploma or GED, $21 for an associate degree, $22 for a bachelor’s degree, and $23 for a master’s degree. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including free medical insurance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to individuals’ scheduling needs.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent customer service and client-facing experience.
• Strong case-note writing and documentation skills.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience.
• Teaching or mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 10–15 clients, primarily in the field, with about 90% of time spent at individuals’ job sites.
• Teach, assist, and support new workers in their jobs through demonstration, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
• Provide training and support to workers with disabilities to help ensure success in their roles.
• Assist new workers with travel from home to job sites when needed.
• Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor client progress and outcomes.
