About The Position

Work Ready is seeking a part-time Job Coach to support high school students with mild to moderate disabilities in community-based Work Experience placements. The coach works directly with students at local employer sites, helping them learn job tasks, understand workplace expectations, and build independence and confidence. Work Ready provides vocational training and employment support services to individuals with disabilities across Texas, with the goal of helping students develop meaningful skills and become successful, independent participants in the workforce.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Completion of UNT WISE Job Skills Training online certification.
• Dependable and professional.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, supportive, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable working in community job settings.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Education, Coaching, Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, Non-Profit, or other Human Services fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to students during their work shifts.
• Teach and reinforce job skills needed for workplace success.
• Model appropriate professional behavior and communication.
• Support students in problem-solving and understanding workplace expectations.
• Communicate observations, progress, and concerns to Work Ready staff as needed.
• Assist in developing strategies, accommodations, or prompts to increase independence.
• Represent Work Ready professionally at employer partner locations.
