About The Position

Ariel Partners is seeking a Jira Configuration Developer/Administrator for part-time work supporting a client. The role develops and manages configurations for Jira Software Cloud and Confluence Cloud, including migration from ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to Jira Software and integration of ServiceNow ITSM with Jira Software. It requires a strong understanding of Jira and the ability to build tailored solutions for complex business needs. The position also supports Jira Service Management and Jira Data Center configurations; workflow, visualization, and metrics capabilities; forecasting and planning using Monte Carlo simulations; and migrations and consolidations across ServiceNow ITSM, Jira Cloud, and Confluence Cloud. Requirements

Proven experience configuring and managing Jira Software Cloud and Confluence Cloud.
Strong understanding of Jira workflow creation, permission schemes, and security.
Experience with Jira migrations and consolidations.
Proficiency with plugins such as ScriptRunner for Jira, Zephyr, Timesheets, Structure, and/or Timeline.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

Jira Administrator certification or similar qualifications.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement configurations for Jira Service Management (JSM) and Jira Data Center (Jira DC).
Configure Jira permissions so project issues are editable by team members and read-only to non-team members, with exceptions for product owners.
Implement security controls so items containing personally identifiable information, such as Social Security numbers, are visible only to the HR department.
Develop a workflow that prompts for assignee assignment when items move into the development phase.
Support workflows, visualizations, and metrics at the team, value stream, and portfolio levels.
Establish forecasting and planning capabilities using Monte Carlo simulations.
Create Kanban boards with sophisticated workflows and specified closure conditions, including “closed normally” and “discarded” statuses.
Define and configure work item types, including Enhancement, Project, Initiative, Epic, and Feature, as well as link types.
Use ScriptRunner and Rovo to create custom fields and automate complex tasks.
Manage migrations between ServiceNow ITSM, Jira Cloud, and Confluence Cloud while maintaining data integrity and minimizing disruption.
Conduct Jira consolidation projects to streamline platforms and improve efficiency.
