About The Position

The Java J2EE Developer designs, develops, tests, deploys, maintains, and improves Java J2EE applications and data pipeline solutions. The role builds and supports ETL and streaming pipelines using PySpark/Spark and uses AWS services including SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS for application and data workflows. The developer applies Agile practices and participates in ceremonies to deliver incremental value.

The position requires applied software engineering experience across analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, along with understanding of CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, application resiliency, and security. Preferred skills include Unix shell scripting, Terraform, and developing practical LLM use cases on OpenAI Azure.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of applied software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java J2EE application development and common design techniques.
• Extensive hands-on experience with PySpark/Spark and ETL/streaming pipelines.
• Experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more languages such as Python or Java.
• Understanding of CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, application resiliency, and security.
• Working knowledge across software engineering disciplines including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• US Citizen, Green Card, or GC EAD preferred.
• W2 requirement; C2C, 1099, and third-party profiles are not accepted.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with shell scripting on Unix systems.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with modern LLM techniques and practical LLM use case development on OpenAI Azure.
