About The Position

The Java Developer will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on building microservices and data-intensive solutions for financial services programs, supporting cloud modernization and platform transformation initiatives, and collaborating with business, product, and engineering stakeholders. This is an 11-month contract based in Salt Lake City, Utah, with five days onsite. Candidates with very short notice periods who are relocating to the work location will be prioritized.

Requirements

• Financial services experience is mandatory.
• Hands-on coding and development experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on development expertise in the listed technical skills (the posting notes this applies to various roles).
• Experience with Java 8, 11, or 17.
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Docker and GitHub Actions (CI/CD).
• Experience with PostgreSQL or Azure SQL and BigQuery.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, cloud-native applications.
• Strong hands-on understanding of API design, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to cloud migration and modernization programs.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud modernization and platform transformation initiatives.
