About The Position
The Senior Full Stack Developer will work in the Application & Data Engineering department, which supports Non-Financial Risk Tech globally. The department maintains and evolves the continuous integration and delivery pipeline and provides reliable, robust, and fast CI capabilities. The role contributes to technology supporting operational controls, surveillance, resilience, archival and records management, business continuity planning, and due diligence investigations. The developer will support and lead phases of the product lifecycle, including analysis, development, and testing. The role focuses on Java backend development and Angular UI development, while also maintaining and enhancing existing Java, Angular, and Python components. The developer will work in an agile team, promote development best practices such as test-driven development, and interact with business users, owners, stakeholders, and other teams to gather and analyze requirements. The position also includes technical documentation, code reviews, troubleshooting, keeping current with industry practices, and mentoring junior developers. The role is located in New York City and requires a local candidate who can attend an in-person interview. The stated rate is $75 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on Single Page Application development experience.
- At least 7 years of hands-on Single Page Application development experience stated for backend development.
- Commercially proven experience in Java.
- Experience designing and developing UI components using Angular, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining Java backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Experience with Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot or Hibernate.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Must be comfortable working in a Unix environment and have experience with web servers such as Apache and Tomcat.
- Must be local to attend an in-person interview.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Python and frameworks such as Django or Flask.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Loki, Jaeger, and Grafana.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and ability to deliver solutions using this methodology.
- Experience developing service-oriented architecture applications and understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to work effectively in large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of Sonar, Cypress, Fortify, Snyk, and other code coverage or testing tools.
- Knowledge of automation testing tools such as PyTest, JUnit, Postman Automation, PyUnit, Selenium, and Mockito.
Responsibilities
- Support and lead product lifecycle phases, including analysis, development, and testing.
- Develop new Java components and maintain or enhance existing Java, Angular, and Python components.
- Design and develop responsive, interactive, user-friendly UI components using Angular, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
- Implement UI/UX designs and wireframes, optimize UI performance, collaborate with designers, and develop reusable UI components and libraries.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient Java backend services, including RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Implement database schema design, data modeling, and data migration strategies using relational and NoSQL databases.
- Promote best practices in test-driven development, development tools, and technologies.
- Participate proactively in agile ceremonies and collaborate with business owners, stakeholders, front-office users, and other agile teams.
- Analyze and gather requirements through interaction with front-office business users.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design documents.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge.
