About The Position

The Sr Java Developer will build and deliver enterprise server-side applications using Java and related technologies. The role works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and global IT partners to deliver projects, align system architecture and integration designs with platform strategies and business goals, and provide robust, scalable technical solutions. The developer will estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate requirements; contribute hands-on code and test coverage; participate in Agile ceremonies; and stay current with development practices, tools, and testing strategies. Local candidates must be available to work in person in downtown New York City. The listed rate is BR - $75 per hour.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience, as indicated in the role description.
• Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Work experience primarily building enterprise server-side applications using J2EE technologies.
• Excellent Core Java, Spring, and Hibernate programming skills.
• Excellent design skills, including design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Java/JEE, Spring, ORM/Hibernate, XML, XPath, XSLT, RESTful web services, and web servers; Apache Tomcat is preferred.
• Experience with JUnit and JProfiler, JProbe, or another profiling tool.
• Proficiency writing SQL queries for databases; Sybase or DB2 is preferred.
• Expertise working with XML, XSLT, SOAP, and JSON formats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
• Working experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps integration.
• Exposure to JIRA or other ALM tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Local candidates must be available for in-person work in downtown NYC.

Nice To Haves

• Strong foundation or working knowledge of UI technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, or React.
• Proficiency in Test Driven Development.
• Knowledge of financial markets, banking products, and wealth management.
• Knowledge of Unix or Linux development.
• Apache Tomcat experience.
• Sybase or DB2 experience.
• Exposure to or working experience using AI tools and models.
