About The Position

The Java Developer will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role involves building and enhancing microservices with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Pub/Sub; developing data-intensive solutions with PostgreSQL and BigQuery; and supporting cloud modernization and platform transformation initiatives. The developer will work closely with business, product, and engineering stakeholders on financial services programs. Hands-on coding and development are required. The position is an 11-month contract based in New York City, with five days onsite.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on development expertise (as stated for the various roles).
• Java development experience, including Java 8, 11, or 17.
• Spring Boot experience.
• Microservices architecture experience.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience.
• Docker experience.
• GitHub Actions and CI/CD experience.
• PostgreSQL or Azure SQL experience.
• BigQuery experience.
• Python experience.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, cloud-native applications.
• Strong hands-on understanding of API design, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Financial services experience is mandatory.
• Hands-on coding and development experience.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to cloud migration and modernization programs.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Very short notice period and ability to relocate to the work location; such candidates will be prioritized.
