About The Position

Join a high-impact Java development team as a Senior Java Developer in Whippany, New Jersey. Design, develop, and optimize modern, scalable applications using current Java technologies. Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver solutions for global banking operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8–10 years of hands-on Java development experience; Java 8+ required, with Java 21 preferred.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot 3, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with REST APIs, MongoDB, and container-based deployments using Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with GitLab and version control systems.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with Cucumber, Karate, or JUnit 5 for testing.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting and resolving production issues in cloud environments, including AWS and OpenShift.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Docker and Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Exposure to MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AI tools for production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of Java-based applications.
• Write clean, efficient, scalable code following current best practices.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and databases.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems, including production issues in AWS and OpenShift.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Support production by identifying and resolving certificate and memory management issues.
