About The Position

Bobby Dodd Institute is seeking a janitorial team member to perform cleaning tasks in accordance with custodial contract specifications. The role is supervised by the Custodial Supervisor and requires successful completion of a criminal history background check and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. The schedule is Wednesday and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., in Atlanta.

The employee performs routine cleaning and upkeep, maintains issued equipment, and communicates supply or equipment needs to the supervisor. The position has physical requirements involving standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds, and movements needed to clean a range of areas. Reasonable accommodations for physical requirements will be considered.

Requirements

• Successfully complete a criminal history information background check.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance for designated contracts.
• Be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Be able to stand for a majority of the work time, walk a significant portion of the time, and sit.
• Be able to lift and carry 35 pounds and push and pull 35 pounds.
• Be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
• Have three to six months of janitorial training or experience, preferred, or be capable of learning to perform the essential functions.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of integrity.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three to six months of training or experience working as a janitor.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash in the prescribed manner.
• Dust horizontal surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms.
• Clean glass and windows.
• Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Mix cleaning solutions.
• Maintain issued equipment.
• Notify the supervisor when supplies or equipment are needed.
• Cooperate with team members.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
