Front Half Day Janitorial Supervisor
About The Position
ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced Janitorial Supervisor to lead its cleaning team. The supervisor ensures cleaning tasks are completed effectively and on time and meet quality standards. The role includes supervising and supporting staff, assigning work, training team members, inspecting facilities, managing supplies and equipment, resolving service issues, communicating with site leadership, maintaining records, and performing custodial work when needed. The position is scheduled Sunday through Wednesday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and pays $20.00 per hour. Offers may vary based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data. Requirements
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in janitorial services.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and safety guidelines.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand and walk for extended periods, up to the entirety of the shift.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent cleaning or maintenance needs.
Nice To Haves
- Supervisory experience in a campus, aviation, warehouse, or large facility environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support janitorial staff daily.
- Assign cleaning tasks and ensure all areas of the property are properly maintained.
- Train and mentor janitorial team members, promoting excellence and efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness and address issues promptly.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper use and storage.
- Quickly respond to and resolve janitorial cleanliness or production issues.
- Communicate with site leadership and other departments as needed.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed when using cleaning products and equipment.
- Maintain records of cleaning schedules, staff attendance, and performance evaluations.
- Perform custodial work when extra support is needed or in emergencies.
