About The Position

The Janitorial Supervisor oversees janitorial and custodial operations at Pier Park, an outdoor premium outlet mall in Panama City Beach, Florida. The role leads daily cleaning operations, supervises janitorial personnel, maintains high cleanliness standards across public spaces, and helps provide an exceptional shopping environment for tenants, employees, visitors, and guests. The supervisor is expected to maintain a visible presence, lead by example, and foster professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and pride in the workplace. Success is measured by property cleanliness and appearance, employee performance and retention, operational efficiency, responsiveness to management and tenant requests, and consistent service quality.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience.
At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience; experience overseeing a large team or multiple cleaning operations is preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures, chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
Ability to develop staffing schedules, manage inventory, and oversee daily operational activities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks when necessary.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as operational needs require.

Nice To Haves

Experience managing janitorial operations in a shopping mall, retail center, hospitality property, commercial facility, or similar high-traffic environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
OSHA certification or other relevant workplace safety training.
Experience managing large outdoor retail centers, shopping malls, or premium outlet properties.
Experience with employee scheduling, inventory control, operational reporting, and quality assurance inspections.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily janitorial operations and ensure assigned property areas are cleaned, maintained, and staffed.
Recruit, supervise, train, schedule, and manage janitorial supervisors and frontline cleaning personnel as applicable.
Conduct routine property inspections and ensure cleaning standards, procedures, and performance expectations are met.
Set staff expectations, monitor performance, address attendance and performance issues, and promote a productive work environment.
Develop staffing schedules that provide coverage during operating hours, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Establish and maintain cleaning schedules, task assignments, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
Manage cleaning supplies, equipment, and inventory; monitor usage, control costs, and coordinate purchasing and replenishment.
Ensure employees follow safety procedures, chemical-handling guidelines, equipment instructions, and applicable OSHA and workplace safety requirements.
Respond professionally and promptly to tenant, management, and guest cleanliness concerns.
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and welcoming appearance of walkways, sidewalks, common areas, restrooms, entrances, outdoor seating areas, and other high-traffic spaces.
Identify and report maintenance, repair, and facility-related concerns to property management personnel.
Maintain records of staffing, inspections, supply inventory, employee training, and operational issues; provide regular updates to property management.
Coordinate additional cleaning coverage and staffing for holidays, promotional events, high-traffic periods, and other property activities.
Identify opportunities to improve cleaning efficiency, employee productivity, service quality, and property appearance.
Lead by example and maintain a visible presence throughout the property.
