About The Position

Allied Universal® Janitorial Services is hiring a Janitorial Supervisor to direct and delegate the workload of janitorial staff, oversee work quality, liaise with customer representatives, and ensure service meets agreed specifications. The role is for a full-time supervisor at Northern Trust. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and pay is $31.00 per hour, paid weekly. On-the-job training is provided. The supervisor may occasionally perform janitorial duties to supplement staff.

Requirements

• At least two years of janitorial work experience, preferably in a leadership role; alternatively, at least six months of janitorial work experience with Allied Universal Janitorial Services or another Allied Universal business.

Nice To Haves

• Prior supervisory experience in the janitorial or housekeeping industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Delegate the workload of janitorial staff members.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure work meets the customer contract.
• Respond to emergency-cleaning calls from security or mall management.
• Ensure janitor closets are clean and stocked.
• Oversee table, chair, stage, and retail merchandising unit setups as required.
• Inform the maintenance department and supervisor about maintenance deficiencies.
• Conduct safety training and coach and mentor janitorial team members.
• Perform payroll duties as needed.
• Make productivity recommendations to leadership staff.
• Participate in selecting and placing janitorial team members.
• Provide team feedback and guidance for improvement.
• Occasionally perform janitorial duties to supplement staff.
