Janitorial/Cleaning & Maintenance Team Lead
About The Position
The Store Cleaning and Maintenance Lead maintains store instruments and functionality through plumbing, minor electrical work, small engine mechanics, and cleaning all departments. The role leads cleaning and maintenance employees and promotes customer service and the company’s “ultra-clean” standard. Cleaning and Maintenance Managers work a variety of shifts, opening and/or closing on some days, including most weekends and holidays. The schedule rotates between day and night shifts, and the role requires availability on the store’s busiest days. The position is paid $23 per hour. Buc-ee’s notes that advancement opportunities are available. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous maintenance and/or team lead experience preferred.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to walk or stand for 8–12 continuous hours.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, reach, balance, push, and pull, including pushing an ice cart with 50 or more 20-pound bags of ice.
- Ability to lift product or material weighing 40 pounds or more.
- Ability to work most weekends and holidays and on the store’s busiest days.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night shifts.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performance team of 10–20 employees that promotes the company’s “ultra-clean” standard.
- Demonstrate organization and administrative skills related to maintenance equipment and storage.
- Direct a stringent cleaning and replenishment system.
- Replace fuel dispensing parts.
- Immediately report or repair equipment found to be in disrepair to the store General Manager.
- Oversee landscape maintenance, waste management, and ice production and replenishment.
- Clean all departments and areas of the store as needed.
- Work the store’s busiest days and a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
- Complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Interact professionally with other team members.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
