About The Position

Merit Medical is hiring a Janitor to clean the facility and maintain a clean, attractive work environment. The position is on the evening shift. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing employee eating areas, cleanrooms, warehouses, offices, bathrooms, gowning rooms, entrances, and other facility spaces; stocking supplies; emptying and properly disposing of trash; and supporting recycling. The janitor safely operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning chemicals, completes required cleanroom cleaning checklists, and assists Facilities with meeting, training, and event setup. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

The role involves spending most of the shift on one's feet and may require lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling tools or controls. The work environment may involve noise and chemical vapors. The position is classified as Infectious Control Risk Category II, meaning work procedures may require exposure to blood or body fluids.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
• Ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate well with others.

Nice To Haves

• Three months of janitorial experience.
• Education equivalent to a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize the employee lunch room and other eating areas, including floors, tables, chairs, counters, walls, microwaves, vending machine and refrigerator exteriors, shelving, and baseboards.
• Clean, sweep, and dust cleanrooms, the warehouse, door entrances, and other work areas.
• Dust office areas, including guard shacks.
• Clean interior and exterior windows and glass doors in various facility areas.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and replenish paper and personal hygiene supplies.
• Clean and stock gowning rooms.
• Stock supplies throughout the facility as needed.
• Empty trash throughout the facility and dispose of it properly in assigned areas.
• Collect and dispose of recyclable materials such as aluminum, paper, and cardboard.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and properly; vacuum, spot-clean carpets, and mop floors.
• Assist Facilities with setup for meetings, training sessions, and special events.
• Complete required cleanroom cleaning checklists in accordance with regulations.
• Perform other duties and tasks as needed.
