About The Position

The Janitor is responsible for cleaning the facility to ensure a clean and attractive work environment. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing employee eating areas, cleanrooms, warehouses, offices, guard shacks, entrances, windows, bathrooms, and gowning rooms; stocking supplies; and properly disposing of trash and recyclables. The role also uses cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, assists Facilities with event setups, and completes required cleanroom cleaning checklists. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

The position involves working primarily on one's feet and may require lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, reaching, and other physical activities. The work environment may include noise and chemical vapors. The posting identifies Infectious Control Risk Category II, which means work or procedures may require exposure to blood or body fluids.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and do simple math.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate well with others.

Nice To Haves

• Three months of janitorial experience.
• Education equivalent to a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize the employee lunch room and other eating areas, including floors, tables, chairs, counters, walls, microwaves, vending machine exteriors, refrigerators, shelving, and baseboards.
• Clean, sweep, and dust cleanrooms, the warehouse, door entrances, and other areas.
• Dust office areas, including guard shacks.
• Clean interior and exterior windows and glass doors in various facility areas.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and keep paper and personal hygiene supplies stocked.
• Clean and stock gowning rooms.
• Stock supplies throughout the facility as needed.
• Empty trash throughout the facility and dispose of it properly in assigned areas.
• Collect and dispose of recyclables, including aluminum, paper, and cardboard.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and properly; vacuum, spot-clean carpets, and mop floors.
• Assist Facilities with setup for meetings, training sessions, and special events.
• Complete required checklists for cleaning cleanrooms in accordance with regulations.
• Perform other duties and tasks as needed.
