About The Position

The Janitor performs industrial cleaning of restrooms and office areas at Newport News Shipbuilding. Duties include emptying trash cans; vacuuming and shampooing carpet; stripping and waxing tile floors; sweeping and mopping restroom floors; cleaning restrooms after overflows; stocking and storing janitorial supplies; and sweeping stairways. The selected candidate must be able to work the assigned shift as production needs.

Requirements

• Must be able to work the assigned shift as production needs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., push and pull equipment, bend, kneel, lift, and navigate steps.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

• Previous janitor experience is highly desired.
