About The Position

The Janitor ensures that all areas of the facility remain clean, sanitized, healthy, safe, and environmentally compliant. The role performs routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and follows all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m., at an hourly rate of $19.05.

The position works in a manufacturing environment and involves exposure to chemicals and hazardous cleaning and sanitizing supplies, robotics, industrial and automotive vehicles, manufacturing equipment, building structures, and weather elements. Personal protective equipment must be worn on the production floor. The employee must be able to lift 50+ pounds with limited accommodations, work in flexible positions, pass and maintain applicable industrial equipment licenses, and certify under the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Janitorial or commercial cleaning and sanitizing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of communicable disease prevention desirable.
• Experience operating industrial equipment preferred.
• Must be able and qualified to wear a respirator and certify under the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.
• Must be able to pass and maintain an industrial equipment license or licenses.
• Must comply with OSHA regulations and take reasonable precautions to protect employees.
• Must adhere to IATF16949 requirements and comply with environmental programs, including hazardous waste and air emissions compliance, and environmental management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills.
• U.S. driver's license preferred.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds with limited accommodations and work in flexible positions.
• Must wear personal protective equipment at all times on the production floor and comply with company policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, breakrooms, appliances, and shared surfaces and touch points throughout the facility.
• Maintain recycling as needed; sweep and mop daily; and operate a floor scrubber or cleaner as necessary.
• Empty trash in production and office areas and outside; pick up trash in the yard and along fences; and empty ashtrays.
• Maintain outside picnic tables and picnic areas.
• Maintain supplies of PPE, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, and cafeteria supplies.
• Assist Utility and Maintenance when needed.
• Assist the Health and Safety team with training on proper sanitizing practices.
• Follow health and safety policies, OSHA regulations, safe operating principles, environmental programs, and IATF16949 requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
