Janitor I
About The Position
The Janitor I provides cleaning services for all buildings, including operational facilities within the plant. The role also stocks cabinets, refrigerators, and other areas with supplies and food items, and picks up and delivers meals and other items throughout the facility. The Janitor I cleans and organizes materials and offices and collects, launders, sanitizes, and distributes reusable personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks and other safety gear, to support site safety requirements. Other duties may be assigned. Candidates must pass all applicable pre-employment and site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitization, and handling procedures for PPE and reusable safety equipment.
- Ability to follow facility safety, hygiene, and infection-control procedures related to PPE laundering and distribution.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairways and work from elevated platforms.
- Must pass applicable pre-employment and site-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Dust, sweep, and mop floors.
- Empty trash cans and carry trash and other disposables, including empty shipping cartons, to outside dumpsters.
- Clean bathrooms, kitchens, and breakroom areas, including microwaves, tables, fixtures, and chairs.
- Clean glass windows and entry and exit rugs.
- Collect, wash, sanitize, dry, and distribute reusable PPE, including masks, coveralls, and other assigned safety equipment.
- Monitor PPE inventory and notify supervision when laundering supplies or replacement items are needed.
- Lift, carry, and handle trash, cleaning supplies, and tools such as mops, buckets, vacuums, rugs, and PPE items.
- Assist with organizing and storing cleaned PPE and safety equipment.
- Stock cabinets, refrigerators, and other facility areas with supplies and food items.
- Pick up and deliver meals and other items around the facility.
- Clean and organize materials and offices throughout the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
