About The Position

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or 4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency! This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period. Under the supervision of the ITRS Coordinator, CATS jail based outpatient treatment program. Serves as a Master's level professional clinician performing a wide range of case management and therapeutic services for consumers at the Ingham Co. Jail. This position will conduct assessments, including case management needs, formulate extensive discharge plans and coordinate services in the community with consumers in order to promote recovery and wellness. This position will work closely with Peer Recovery Coaches to utilize community resources. This person will also provide direct substance use and/or co-occurring treatment via individual/group therapy and crisis intervention services to incarcerated individuals. Will be responsible for coordination of SUD residential placements. May need to maintain contact with probation officers and will be responsible for compliance with court orders and associated documentation. Maintains the jail’s electronic memo system. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required.
  • Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a substance use disorder required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons who have a substance use disorder required.
  • Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or must become certified within a maximum of 3 years from date of hire or change in regulation.
  • Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required.
  • Offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Law Enforcement Information Network review, verification of a professional license, county jail background check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history.
  • Candidate must be able to pass annual LEIN review.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Benefits

  • Scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $79,538.
