J1 Intern Host II - The American Club
About The Position
The J1 Intern Host II works onsite at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin, as part of the J-1 Work & Travel Program. The program is designed for university students from other countries who are on academic break and seeking seasonal employment in the United States. Its primary focus is cultural exchange, with opportunities to gain work experience and experience American culture. The position supports food and beverage teams by providing guest service and helping with restaurant operations. The role offers experience in effective selling techniques and proper food and liquor handling methods. It is part-time, with weekday and weekend work and shifts that vary between 5:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Be energetic and willing to learn.
- Organization and previous customer service skills are helpful.
- Previous customer service or food and beverage experience is a plus.
- Be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and proactively with a warm welcome.
- Courteously escort guests to tables.
- Assist servers and bus people when necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness throughout front-of-house and restroom areas.
