About The Position

The IT Trainer/Content Developer is responsible for conducting IT application training classes and developing/updating content for training materials. This role delivers IT training to staff on custom-developed and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, including desktop, web, and mobile applications. The position involves working with users to identify training needs, publishing training schedules, administering learner enrollments and testing, and reviewing training surveys for feedback. The IT Trainer/Content Developer will collaborate with business units, facilitate vendor-delivered training, and develop various forms of training content such as PowerPoint presentations, Trainer Guides, Quick Reference Guides, User Manuals, Storyboards, and Videos. They will also engage technical staff for content development, complete recordkeeping, ensure training environments are ready, and conduct virtual and on-site training sessions. Participation in IT projects, providing user training support during product user acceptance testing and rollouts, reserving conference rooms, and making travel arrangements are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

BA/BS in communications, teaching, IT or similar field; or Associate Degree w/2 yr of IT experience; or IT Certifications w/4 yr IT experience.
4+ years of work experience in IT technical training or with computers, technology, IT applications/systems, and/or end user client support.
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.
1+ years of experience and flexibility to travel within the Client to provide scheduled in-person training classes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and teaching skills.
Ability to maintain a personal credit card for authorized travel expenses.
Possession of a valid driver license and ability to operate a vehicle for travel.
Ability to provide a suitable internet connection and environment when teleworking.

Nice To Haves

4+ years of work experience in developing role-based end user training content for IT applications/systems.
2+ years of experience in instructional design, visual design, storyboarding, and script writing.
2+ years of experience with Adobe Captivate.
2+ years of experience with TechSmith Camtasia.
2+ years of experience with Articulate 360/Storyline.
1+ years of experience with Microsoft Teams.
1+ years of work experience with maintaining training records within an LMS.
Experience with Oracle LMS, Cornerstone LMS, or Workday.
Familiarity with ServiceNow.
Experience using Scribe for content development.

Responsibilities

Conducts IT application training classes and develops/updates content for training materials.
Delivers IT training to staff on custom developed and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
Delivers training for desktop, web, and mobile applications.
Works with users to identify training needs, courses, and content.
Publishes training schedules and course offerings within the Learning Management System.
Administers learner enrollments, testing, completions, and awarding of certifications.
Reviews training surveys to obtain feedback to improve training delivery.
Collaborates with business units to increase class enrollments and address technical needs.
Facilitates vendor or contractor delivered training.
Develops, updates, and maintains IT training content including PowerPoint presentations, Trainer Guides, Quick Reference Guides, User Manuals, Storyboards, and Videos.
Engages technical staff to develop training content.
Completes recordkeeping for tracking time, activities, and performance indicators.
Ensures training environments and data are ready prior to training classes.
Conducts virtual classroom training, on-site classroom, and webinars/user group sessions.
Reserves conference rooms and equipment and makes appropriate travel arrangements.
Participates in IT projects and provides user training support during product user acceptance testing and initial rollouts.
